It's been a long time and I stop working on this material.
The design included the presentation of an iCosta concept app and the production of the Favolosa app for iOS tablets.
The spread of the first generation of iOS tablets was an opportunity to design an app in which the power and services of the new Costa Favolosa ship were highlighted, such as the extraordinary adventures around the world thanks to the webcam with Live footage and tracking of the route in real time. In fact, designed the official app that allow users to plunge in the fascinating world of Costa and discover the most suggestive corners of the fleet's ships offering features such as following the itinerary of each ship through the displaying of a map plus a remote webcam, displaying catalogues, news and many other informations.
At about the same time, I produced the User Interface of the mobile website in team with another designer
The first design approach involved the wireframe phase of studying not only the structure in tune with the Apple international guidelines. This stage was also useful for the purpose of an interactive strategy such as to deepen the nature of the Favolosa service for mobile usealong with the technologies at the edge of the new industrial revolution. For example, three-dimensional interactions were exhibited, ahead of their time in terms of Motion Design better known within the Design System many years later
The User Interface iteration involved a careful study of the protagonist ship, Favolosa. Not least it was necessary to translate the service, previously detailed in the wireframe phase, in the form of a usable and intuitive interface in tune with Apple guidelines
The design involved the creation and management of a Style Guide to define and trace the typical style of Costa. Libraries of this kind were among the first intuitions that anticipated the concept of the Design System better known several years later.
Costa launched a contest and gathered various design proposals to make possible the use of its services even on the go via mobile platforms.
This concept was designed within a contest
The application design envisaged the adoption of the wireframe technique in order to study the structure in harmony with the Apple international guidelines. This phase was also a strategy to deepen the nature of the Costa service for mobile use along with the technologies at the edge of the new industrial revolution. In fact, the study of the Costa service was designed to facilitate users in accessing advantageous functions such as enabling them to check-in on board.
A summary version of the functional tour of the application was produced in the form of tables. The goal was to facilitate a lighter and more immediate reading at a glance, unlike the wireframe. In fact, I advanced hypotheses of innovative animations in terms of Motion Design, such as the opening of a personalized booklet that each user could personalize.
The proposal was conceived for the Apple platform. Therefore it was necessary to centralize the style in such a way to distribute it uniformly with consistency and at the same time meeting the requirements of Costa's brand identity. In fact, during the proposal phase, interfaces represented the Costa service in action within the smartphone and exploiting the innovative potential offered by the iOS operating system
