The Academy of Fine Arts was not only an opportunity to meet past art as a tradition and the mixes it has had to date, but also a great opportunity to approach methodically new digital materials from any field such as web, video , 3D.
In particular, in the case of the painting, I was able to learn the hand painting with engravings and at the same time I was able to refine the digital field as well.
Intaglio or intaglio printing is an etching printing system on copper or zinc plate. The first information on this printing technique dates back to 1450, when in Florence the goldsmith Maso Finiguerra was the first to use an inverse procedure with respect to the xylographic technique.
During my time in the Academy of Fine Arts, I produced a series of chalcographies with different techniques including drypoint, etching and solid color aimed at showing the Hip Hop theme. The intaglio drawing was also applied to practice the typical Japanese cartoon drawing of the 80s to explore and learn how to manage chiaroscuro.
