Survivor

It's been a long time and I stop working on this material.

Comics

Study and design of animations applied to cartoons.

The theme was centered on Surviving with scenographic settings centered on nature and in different exploratory moments. Conceived and produced a series of short clips presenting an outdoor environment. More to come, way beyond hiking and trekking including climbing cliffs, parachuting from helicopters, balloons, and planes, paragliding, ice climbing, running through a forest fire, wading rapids, free climbing waterfalls

Illustration

The design began with the drawing of the characters in a way to be animated (Skeleton and Rigging techqinique). For this reason, the method involved the creation of the so-called Constructor, a particular technique that involves the design of a character in pieces by keeping in mind which of these will be animated. This way, animation control the nature of each object's shape and position. So I produced a Constructor with minimal lines with the advantage that in some cases the animated ones could also be interchanged directly in the video production phase.

Motion Fxs

Video production in this particular field was an excellent opportunity to go back to studying and experimenting with the new animation techniques applied in the world of cartoons in two dimensions. In fact, compared to the animations I performed years ago in three dimensions, the techniques may vary depending on the methodological approach that you decide to adopt.

Teaser

The result of all the work done is visible in small videos lasting a few seconds. The videos did not provide for the inclusion of audio tracks

Camping

The choice of the night camp in front of the fire involved the study of special effects. The background also envisaged a particular half-camera scenographic experimentation to recreate the vertigo effect and thus convey the message of fear and discomfort in the forest.

Floating

The idea of representing the character in the act of rowing from one side to the other involved a careful study of the anatomical movement of the arms and thus being able to give the effect of sailing on a rubber dinghy on a swollen river. The theme of water was also an opportunity to explore techniques and methods in order to represent it both in the form of a stream and in that of rain.

Walking

Application of the walking technique to simulate human progress. Walking can be represented in many ways (including through code) and in any case paying particular attention to offering a movement that is fluid enough to deceive the eye. The experimentation also involved effects to reproduce a harsh climate

Jeep

Study and experimentation of vehicle movement to simulate a bumpy and dangerously sloping road. For this animation the Rotoscoping technique was explored in order to represent the jeep's progress
